You can now ask your AI assistant to review Osome’s recommended accounting categories for your transactions and apply them after your confirmation — all without leaving your chat window.
Keep your workflow moving without tab-switching
Assigning categories to routine bank transactions is quick, but switching back and forth between your AI assistant and Osome breaks your focus. Following direct feedback from our power users, we built and shipped this capability in just 24 hours to bring Osome’s intelligent cashcoding workflow straight into your assistant.
Your AI assistant can now fetch Osome’s recommended accounts, explain them in plain language, and apply the coding once you give the green light.
Why this matters
- Stay in your flow: Ask your assistant to check or code payments without opening the Osome web app.
- Driven by Osome intelligence: Your assistant does not guess accounting rules — it uses Osome’s existing recommendation and reconciliation engine.
- Safe and controlled: Nothing changes in your books until you explicitly confirm the transaction, category, and description.
How to use it
Once your AI tool is connected to Osome MCP, you can use natural language to review and code transactions.
Try asking your assistant:
- "What should this payment be coded as?"
- "Show me OSOME's recommendation for the latest card transaction."
- "Apply OSOME's recommended category for this expense."
How it works under the hood
Osome MCP uses two explicit tools to manage this workflow securely:
- Review options: list-transaction-cashcoding-recommendations retrieves Osome’s suggested account codes, confidence score, source, and any flags indicating if manual review is safer.
- Apply with confirmation: apply-transaction-cashcoding-recommendation writes the update to your books once you approve it.
Note: The apply action uses the company:documents:write permission—the same secure write path you already approve for accounting document updates.
Built-in safety and fallback
- Explicit confirmation: The assistant must show you the transaction details and recommended account before running any write actions.
- Automatic safety blocks: If a transaction is already reconciled or has conflicting supporting documents, Osome MCP will block the update and direct you to the Osome app for manual review.
