Confirming your HK annual return details just got much easier. You can now review your company information directly inside the filing wizard and update anything that’s changed — like your passport, address, or business activities — without writing a single chat message.

No more back-and-forth for Annual Return updates
We’ve cut out the unnecessary messaging during Annual Return filing by letting you review and trigger updates yourself directly inside the filing flow.
Whether you've renewed your passport or changed your business activities, you can now flag updates with a single tap.

Why this matters
- Direct self-service: Update your personal or company details directly from the review screen without waiting for an agent to open a ticket for you.
- Fewer chat interruptions: If everything looks correct, simply confirm it in one click and get back to running your business.
- No extra payments: Filing on time saves your business from unnecessary late file fees that can rise to HK$ 50,000
How it works
Reviewing and updating your Annual Return details takes just a couple of minutes:
1. Review your information
Open your Annual Return task in the app to see your directors, shareholders, registered address, and business activities organised into clear sections.
2. Update what’s changed
If any detail is out of date, click Change next to that specific field:
- KYC details (Passport or Address): Select what changed to jump straight into your secure identity verification flow.
- Business activity code: Routes you directly into our guided change-of-activity form.

- Mortgage status: Select whether your company has a mortgage and record any remaining debt.
3. Confirm and complete
If all your details are up to date, simply tap Everything is correct to complete your review instantly.
Note: For fields that cannot be changed via self-service due to registry rules, the app will guide you on what to do next instead of leaving you at a dead end. If you ever need help, clicking chat opens your existing Annual Return ticket so your conversation stays in one place.
What is an Annual Return and why does it matter?
Every company incorporated in Hong Kong is legally required under the Companies Ordinance to file an Annual Return (Form NAR1) with the Companies Registry every year, within 42 days of its incorporation anniversary.
Unlike a tax filing, the Annual Return is a official record of your company's ownership and corporate structure. It confirms key details such as:
- Directors and shareholders (including passport numbers and residential addresses)
- Registered office address
- Share capital structure and mortgages
- Principal business activity codes
Filing on time is critical. The government imposes escalating late fees— jumping from HK$ 105 up to HK$ 50,000 for severe delays — and default can result in legal prosecution of responsible officers or the company being struck off the register.
