We’ve launched the Spending tab inside Finance Overview to give freelancers and tech-startup owners instant clarity on where their money goes every month. Your outgoing bank transactions are automatically categorised into 17 owner-friendly categories with zero manual spreadsheet work required.

See where every dollar goes

Tracking business expenses shouldn't mean wasting weekends on manual spreadsheets or waiting until month-end for an accountant summary. We’ve introduced the Spending tab inside Finance Overview (formerly the Business Health Dashboard) to give you an immediate, real-time breakdown of your outgoing cash flow.
We completed a 12-month historical backfill and forward-categorisation pipeline before revealing the feature. The moment you open your dashboard, the bulk of your past transactions are already categorised so you can dive straight into insights instead of looking at a wall of unsorted data.
Why this matters
- Visual dashboard: See your spending composition and month-over-month trends at a glance.

- Automatic 17-category tracking: Incoming and outgoing transactions are sorted automatically using smart AI at bank ingest, supporting document reading, and direct GL account mapping from your accountant.
- Clean vendor drill-downs: Tap any category to see your total spend, transaction counts, and percentages broken down by specific vendor.

- Readable transaction names: Replace messy bank string codes with clean, custom names using the new editable User Description field.

- Multi-currency support: View transactions in their native currency alongside their reporting-currency equivalent with locked foreign exchange rates.
How it works
Your spending data is organised and actionable from day one:
1. Access your dashboard
Navigate to Finance Overview (the renamed Business Health Dashboard) and tap the new Spending tab. (Note: Our four formal reports — Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Aged Payables, and Aged Receivables—have moved to a dedicated top-level Reports section).
2. Exclude non-spending items
Every outgoing payment counts toward your spending by default. If you have internal bank transfers or non-expense movements, simply toggle the opt-out switch to exclude them from your totals.
3. Export for your accountant
Need to share your numbers? Generate a period-scoped CSV export covering up to 3 months of data in seconds.
What’s next?
This initial V1 release is focused on client-side self-service, leaving your official accounting ledger completely unchanged. In our upcoming V1.1 and V1.2 fast-follow updates, your custom User Descriptions and categories will become visible to your personal bookkeeper on their reconciliation drawer for even smoother collaboration.
Note: We built this view to give you total cash flow clarity on your own schedule. Have feedback on your spending categories? Let us know in the app chat!
