Is There a Limit on Trivial Benefits for Directors?
- Published: 7 April 2026
Employees can receive unlimited trivial benefits, provided each one costs £50 or less.
However, directors of close companies (companies controlled by five or fewer shareholders) are limited to £300 per tax year in total trivial benefits.
If the £300 threshold is exceeded, the excess becomes taxable.
