How Is Deregistration Applied for in Hong Kong?

  • Published: 19 January 2026

Deregistration is a two-step process. First, the company must obtain a Notice of No Objection from the Inland Revenue Department by submitting Form IR1263 along with a fee of HK$270. This step usually takes 1 to 3 months.

Second, the company submits Form NDR1 to the Companies Registry within 3 months of receiving the IRD notice, together with a fee and a Notice of No Objection. The Companies Registry will issue an acknowledgement of receipt in approximately 5 working days.

Overall, the deregistration process typically takes 6 to 9 months. Osome can assist with the process for a professional fee.
