How Can I Get an EORI Number?

The type of EORI number you need depends on where your business moves goods:

• Goods to/from Great Britain: Apply for a GB EORI number that starts with GB. If you already have an EORI number from another country, it will not be valid for UK trade. Apply here.
• Goods to/from Northern Ireland: You may need an EORI number starting with XI. Apply here. If you already have an EU EORI number, this may not be required.
• Declarations or customs decisions in the EU: If your business engages directly with EU customs, you may need an EU EORI number from an EU country. Contact the relevant EU customs authority. An XI EORI is sufficient if you already have one for Northern Ireland.
