- Modified: 11 March 2026
A Certificate of Resident Status (COR) is issued by the Hong Kong authorities to prove your residency for claiming tax benefits under Hong Kong’s Double Taxation Agreements (DTAs).
Who can apply:
- Individuals who ordinarily reside in Hong Kong or meet the 180/300-day rule.
- Companies, partnerships, trusts, or other entities incorporated or managed and controlled in Hong Kong.
How Osome helps:
- International jurisdictions: We prepare and submit the company's physical application to the Hong Kong authorities.
- Mainland China: We guide you through your company's e-tax portal registration and can ensure your COR is accurately submitted over the portal.
- Our service fee is HK$1,500 per application.
Processing time: The target of the Hong Kong authorities is 21 working days after receipt of a properly completed application for the certificate or official response. Check the list of DTAs here: HKIRD – DTAs.
