Yes, many business activities in Singapore require a licence. Some common examples include:
- Jewellery / Precious Metals / Precious Stones: Registration with the Ministry of Law is required. Semi-annual returns must also be filed.
- Travel Agency: A licence from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is required, along with appointment of an auditor and compliance with financial and operational requirements.
- Employment Agency (EA): A licence is required for companies placing job seekers with employers, including foreign placements.
- Alcohol / Food & Beverage / Insurance / Real Estate / Financial Services / Cryptocurrency / Public Entertainment / Tobacco: Licences may also be required depending on the activity.
Osome does not assist with licence applications. The company director must apply directly through the relevant authorities.
