What Is a Share Certificate and Can Osome Assist?
- Published: 12 November 2025
A share certificate is prima facie evidence of the title of the member to the shares. It can be issued in paper or electronic form and typically includes the company name and registration number, the authority under which the company is constituted, registered address, shareholder’s name, number and class of shares, and paid-up status.
It is a requirement under Companies Act 1967 to issue share certificate whenever there are new shares issued and allotted to shareholders or there are transfers of shares.
As your appointed Corporate Secretary, Osome can issue and update share certificates whenever there are changes to the structure of the share capital.
